The Charity Database Explained
We believe that data has the power to create a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient society. A step in this direction is the aggregation and dissemination of unbiased data involving all Hong Kong charities. As of February 28, 2022, Hong Kong consisted of 9,669 Section 88 tax-exempt charities (16,346, if including charity subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries), yet there was no public place for easy access to contact information and unbiased data for these entities – until now.
Our database below comprises an up-to-date list of ALL of Hong Kong’s Section 88 tax-exempt charities. These charities are then further researched and added to our user-friendly Charity Directory. This growing directory will aid volunteers, the public, funders etc., to learn more about each charity’s activities, it’s needs, and overall help bring transparency and efficiency to the sector.Â
