Fu Hong Society
Description
Inspired by the spirit of Father Enea Tapella, PIME who had offered his caring and selfless contribution to the underprivileged, Fu Hong Society was founded in 1977 with the establishment of its 1st ‘Father Tapella Home’. In May 1978, the Society was incorporated under the ‘Hong Kong Companies Ordinance’ as a company limited by guarantee and a tax-exempt charity under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. Currently, it has more than 70 service units under different service categories and programs, providing appropriate rehabilitation services to nearly 4,000 persons with disabilities, including persons with intellectual disabilities, persons with autism spectrum disorders, persons in psychiatric recovery from mental illness, and persons with physical disabilities. Core services provided by the Society include residential care services, day training services, vocational rehabilitation and development services, community mental health services, services for persons with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, and community support services for persons with disabilities.

Upholding the spirit of ‘Take the Lead, Meet the Need with Love’, we strive for the advocacy and provision of appropriate rehabilitation services, to support the implementation of the "United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, and to enable persons with disabilities to explore and develop their potentials and enjoy quality of life at home and in the community.
