About LearnerThon

LearnerThon is a charitable organization incorporated within the scope of section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance of Hong Kong for tax exemption. It is founded by four retired academics and engineers with a view to passing on the knowledge and experiences of one generation to another.

Our Mission

To provide a free platform for sharing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) knowledge, and to offer help to students and young practitioners in related studies and pursuits.

Service To Be Provided

The following service will be provided and extended in stages:
1. To assist students to improve in STEM-related (including language) subjects;
2. To collaborate with schools and other organizations in the provision of STEM education;
3. To promote life-long learning and knowledge sharing among practitioners in the fields of STEM; and
4. To offer guidance to young practitioners in the fields of STEM on communication and problem-solving skills.

Current Service Rendered

We are collaborating with schools and non-government organizations in Hong Kong to provide free online tutoring to students who cannot afford to obtain assistance from other sources. Open application for obtaining tutoring service by those in need is not available at the moment.

For young practitioners in the fields of STEM, mentoring service would only be available later. Please go to the Mentoring page to make a pre-registration. We shall contact those who have shown interests when the service is launched.
