EducationHuman ServicesThe Gifted Education Council was established in 1988. It aims to promote gifted education and training of gifted & talented children. In the following year, it was registered as a charitable non-profit association with the registration number 91/3096. We believe that everyone has talent. As long as he/she is properly nutured, there are no limits for any child’s future. This council established the Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad School and the Hong Kong Choir of Outstanding Children. It started up G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College, G.T. College Mong Kok (Chi Kit Campus) and so on, helping society to train talented individuals on a long-term basis. The council has organised large-scale educational activities which have benefited more than 10, 000 students and parents.

Fu founded this charitable family foundation hoping to pass on his grandfather’s legacy of giving to future generations. Arts and Culture and Humanities新聲國樂團於八七年由邱少彬(故)創辦,九七年成立新聲音樂協會,現任主席兼總監為張美玲女士。本會一向積極參與各類社區活動,得到社會普遍認同,零八年正式獲確認為「慈善團體」,一零年十月獲確認為「義工團體」,連年獲社會福利署頒發「義務工作嘉許金狀」及「一萬小時義工服務獎」。樂團及協會以「雅俗共賞」為目標,既把優秀的民間、傳統音樂及新作品介紹給觀眾,又把藝術性高的作品普及化。並且提出「業餘團體,專業精神」的口號作為指南,積極提高技術與藝術水準,被譽為音樂界的「無印良品」。多年來透過「演藝」、「音樂教育」及「學術研討」三大領域,積極推動香港的中樂發展。 樂團成立至今,參與陣容龐大並且高質素的演出共九百多場,合作過的音樂家超過一百五十人(包括海外、內地及台灣音樂家),團體七十多個。曾出訪北京、上海、張家港、四川成都、甘肅蘭州、台北、台中、廈門、泉州、福州、莆田、煙台、威海、蓬萊、廣州、深圳、汕頭、珠海、澳門、封開、信宜、加拿大溫哥華及印尼泗水等地,皆獲好評。是香港最活躍的民間非職業樂團之一。樂團又提倡改編及創作,二十多年間,改編及創作的樂曲近五百首,經由樂團發表的首演作品近四十首,其中部份新作品由團員創作。目前團內的樂手來自各階層,不少成員擁有大學學位或碩士資格,還有不少專職中樂導師。團員中考獲十級資格者近七十人,其中優秀及良好成績者近六十人,並有近二十位團員考獲中國民族管弦樂學會之高級考級指導教師資格。除新聲國樂團(附〝少年團〞)及新聲箏樂團(附〝少兒箏團〞)外,協會轄下尚有:吹打樂團、阮樂團、葫蘆絲樂團、西樂團及合唱團等,並組成了首隊中國的簧管樂團,使活動更多元化,演出人數可由十人以內至一百人以上,以適合不同類型的演出。 協會成立至今,每年均主辦及協辦各類音樂會,又積極參與各類慈善演出,近年表表者如:去年七月主辦新聲合唱團2018音樂會《夏之歌》;八月主辦“新聲盃”中國鋼琴曲國際大賽2018,邀得三位著名鋼琴家及教育家—蔡崇力老師、朱珊珊老師及李家祥老師擔任評判;十月主辦《協奏曲之夜》音樂會,並邀得著名作曲家陳永華教授指揮及著名鋼琴家羅乃新女士鋼琴獨奏。又與仁愛堂合作,參與全港首個中樂治療先導計劃。自一二年起,連年獲中西區區議會邀請參加「文化落區」系列之《中樂大使》計劃,反應熱烈。 協會於零七年五月起承辦中國民族管弦樂學會的「全國民族樂器演奏藝術水平考級(香港/澳門地區)」考試。零九年起分別於香港及北京舉辦四場《桃李芬芳》—優秀考生音樂會,中國民族管弦樂學會正、副會長、秘書長等前輩對音樂會的演奏水準、指揮、作品及舞台調度等均給予高度讚揚;一五年九月,本會團員參加《第三屆珠港澳中國民族器樂大賽》並取得四個一等獎、七個二等獎及廿五個三等獎的優秀成績;一四年八月,本會八位團員於《第二屆「敦煌盃」全國琵琶大賽》奪得非職業琵琶重奏組金獎、獨奏銀獎及數名優秀演奏獎;一二年十月,新聲箏樂團獲邀於北京首屆《敦煌盃全國青少年古箏大賽》頒獎禮上作表演嘉賓,團員分別獲一金一銀兩銅及數名優秀演奏獎;一零年,本會學員分別於二月及八月赴京參加中國民族管弦樂學會主辦的《2010首屆柳琴北京邀請賽》及《2010首屆阮北京邀請賽》,獲得六銀七銅及數名優秀演奏獎的成績(其中青少年組及成人組的阮合奏俱獲銀獎)。一一及一二年,少年團兩度應中國教育電視協會及全國校園春節聯歡晚會組委會之邀,赴京參與中央電視台錄播節目《魅力校園新春音樂會》,並被評為「全國藝術教育先進單位」。此外,協會每年均主辦「聯校中樂匯演」,約五十間中、小學參與,近千名學生演出。又主辦《新聲盃》中樂合奏比賽、邀請賽及獨奏比賽,通過有聯繫的學校推動學員積極參與。 首任總監邱少彬先生在本地從事中樂教育、演奏四十多年,是一位經驗豐富而注重理論研究的音樂碩士,協會及樂團在他的領導下有了更好的發展。新聲音樂協會及樂團的活動介紹已收輯於零六年至零九年的中國文化年鑑中,並被評為「榮譽文化團體」
