Charity Finder aims to help the public and funders find information about Hong Kong's charities in one place. However, we do not guarantee that the information on this site is complete, current, or accurate.
Data sources and limitations
Details about organisations (including names, contact details, categories, beneficiaries, and other fields) come from public records, from suggestions we review before applying, and from content published by an approved representative on a claimed listing. This information may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect. We do not re-check every detail, and we do not review each change an approved representative publishes.
Tax-exempt status
We keep the directory up to date from the Inland Revenue Department's monthly list of charities exempt from tax under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. A listing on Charity Finder is not confirmation of current tax-exempt status. Before you donate, claim a deduction, or otherwise rely on that status, you should still search the organisation yourself on the IRD's Search for Tax-Exempt Charities and confirm the result there. If the full name does not match, search by part of the name, as the IRD search looks for an exact match.
Claimed listings
A Claimed badge means an approved representative of that organisation can update the public profile, including the description, contact details, links, and documents. Official names and registration details stay aligned with public records and are not edited through the owner form. The badge is not an audit, endorsement, or guarantee of the organisation's work, finances, or tax status.

Charity Finder and its data are provided "as is". We make no representations or warranties of any kind about the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the information for any purpose. You use the directory and data at your own risk.
Verify before you rely
If you are making decisions based on charity information (for example, donations, partnerships, or due diligence), you should independently verify important details with the organisation or with official registers. Do not rely solely on this site.
Corrections and updates
If you represent the organisation, you can claim the listing and update the public profile yourself once we approve the claim. Anyone else can use Suggest a change. We review those submissions and may edit, decline, or remove them. We cannot promise that every correction will be applied, or when. Official names and registration numbers, including on a claimed listing, should be sent through Suggest a change.
