WHO ARE WE? Hong Kong Shark Foundation (HKSF) is a registered charity dedicated exclusively to shark conservation. We aim to raise awareness about shark conservation, particularly the unsustainable practice of shark finning, and to reduce consumption of shark products in Hong Kong. https://www.hksharkfoundation.org/about-us/ WHAT'S THE CHALLENGE? Every year, over 100 million sharks are caught worldwide for shark fins and other products, with over 50% of the world’s shark fin being traded through Hong Kong alone. As apex predators, sharks are a crucial part of the marine food chain. The demand for shark products has contributed to the rapid decline of many species, with several already nearing extinction. Removing sharks from our oceans will threaten the delicate balance of ecosystems that are valuable sources of food and key elements in regulating our climate. HKSF believes this a rare opportunity for people everywhere, especially in Hong Kong, to make a significant impact on a global scale. Education - Our Shark Ambassador education program reached over 10,00 kids in 2024 at over 50 schools. HKSF's Shark Ambassador Education Program is a student-driven initiative that enables motivated students here in Hong Kong to become a vital part of the shark conservation movement. HKSF focuses on SDG #14LifeBelowWater and provides the mentoring, the training and basic materials to help new Shark Ambassadors learn more about the importance of marine conservation and sustainability, as well as how to best engage their peers. Once Shark Ambassadors have participated in our talk and training, they go out into their schools and communities hosting events, organizing fundraisers, and working with their teachers and HKSF to integrate conservation messages into the existing curriculum. HK Saving Cat and Dog Association Limited

Hong Kong Saving Cat and Dog Association (HKSCDA) is a non-profit charitable organization established on 1st April 2007. Our mission is to provide food, medical treatment, neutering and adoption services for cats and dogs. Apart from rescuing them from animal breeding farms, we also provide assistance to sick or injured cats and dogs on the street. We would also take care of abandoned pets and try our best to find trustworthy homes for them. The slogan of our organization is “give animals a second chance”. Through rescuing and re-homing, we aim to prevent cats and dogs from sickness, abuse or injury. We adopt a “no kill” policy, where we never give up on our animals, even when the shelter is full. With our organization reaching its 10th anniversary soon, we have successfully found blissful homes for more than 2,400 cats and dogs. Despite all the hardships and owing thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, our premise has expanded from a small office of a few hundred square feet, to a 1,500 square-feet site inside an industrial building. With our love for animals, we sincerely hope to become a role model in society, contributing in making Hong Kong a better place for all living souls.

Access HK was set up in 2001 by a group of Hong Kong students at leading U.K. and U.S. universities who felt strongly about equal opportunities and were dedicated to improving the education of children in Hong Kong. Vision: Access HK has organized a number of projects to help underprivileged children in Hong Kong. Every summer, Access HK’s volunteers, mostly students studying at overseas universities, return to Hong Kong to give a free summer school to children in need. Access HK also recruits young professionals to run a free weekend tuition program known as “Teach an Hour” and a careers program known as “A Day in the Life of…”, during which children are given the opportunity to shadow someone in a career in which he or she is interested. Access HK works with primary schools situated in some of the most economically deprived districts in Hong Kong, and strive to boost students’ learning interest and English language skills. To date, Access HK served over 1,000 children in need.

Founded in 2015, the Child and Adolescent Financial Education Fund ("CAFEF") is a charity established to advocate for child and adolescent financial education in Hong Kong. Developed our flagship '4S Program' in the collaboration with the Education University of Hong Kong to provide a scientific and research-based solution to replenish the existing gap in financial education amongst primary and secondary school curricula. Our Vision We believe that cultivating students' financial skills is important for their future individual development as well as the society. Through a research-based financial programme "4S programme", we integrate the concepts and thinking of economics, financial management and moral education, and hope to help children and adolescents in developing the correct concept of money and financial attitude afterwards. Children and adolescents can manage their wealth and life more effectively and bring long-term benefits to individuals, families and society.

Chan Chat Mansion, original building on site of Chi Lin Nunnery Chi Lin Nunnery was established in 1934 on the site of an old mansion. It was redeveloped in the 1990s to be a “seven-hall” timber monastic complex in the traditional style of the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907) based on the Great East Hall of Foguang Temple in Shanxi (one of the surviving Tang Dynasty architectural works in China) and the Tang timber architecture depicted in Dunhuang Cave murals. Construction techniques and craftsmanship adhered strictly to the Tang Dynasty. After the successful re-development of the nunnery, Chi Lin collaborated with the government and developed the land which is to the south of Chi Lin. The landscape garden was designed and modelled on Jiangshouju Garden in Shanxi Province (the surviving Tang Dynasty garden in China). Together, they form a comprehensive Tang style complex of timber monastic architecture and landscape garden. In 2012, they were inscribed on China’s tentative list of World Cultural Heritage sites.
