Founded in 1897 by Hidesheimer Blindemission, Germany, Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired is a charitable agency of which all activities are founded in Christian faith. We provide comprehensive educational, rehabilitation, career and boarding services for children with visual impairment and those visually impaired with intellectual and / or other disabilities, as well as residential care and nursing facilities for visually impaired elderly. We also provide employment training to visually impaired students and youths and work to develop job opportunities for our graduates. We engage with other voluntary and government agencies at local, regional and international levels to maintain, improve and provide services to the visually impaired and deliver public education. Ebenezer is committed to “Nurturing PRIDE for a Better World” not only for the visually impaired but also for the community as a whole. In 1976, our Association established the Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service (formerly named “Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service Centre”). Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre offers multi-professional services to anyone diagnosed with cancer, their family members, friends and carers. Maggie’s Centre is based in Tuen Mun Hospital, within walking distance from its oncology department. All of Maggie’s services are offered free of charge. When visitors walk through the door, they are greeted by our cancer support specialists, who will listen, answer questions and talk through the elements of Maggie’s Cancer Support Programme, assessing which programme is suitable for them personally. Our aim is to help people equip themselves with effective ways to face and cope with cancer diagnosis, treatments, and psychological, informational, and emotional impacts of cancer. The welcoming, home like environment of our Centre is part of the Maggie’s integrated ethos. The comfortable setting allows you to be yourself, not a hospital patient.
