SEA Charitable Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation that provides education opportunities for the disadvantaged in Hong Kong. Our mission is to provide equal and high-quality educational opportunities to disadvantaged children in Hong Kong through strong partnerships, building the foundation of a life-long learning and contributing to achieving a truly inclusive community. We provide these opportunities for ethnic minorities, refugees and asylum seekers by partnering with different NGOs to identify talented individuals for education scholarships. Our vision is to see an inclusive community in Hong Kong where all children have access to education. SEA Charitable Foundation identifies students referred to by community partners and NGOs based on academics, sporting, music achievements, etc. We work closely with international schools in Hong Kong to provide scholarships and bursaries for asylum seekers, refugees, and those who ordinarily could not afford it. We also provide support to families looking to resettle in Australia, offering primary/high school and tertiary school placement for their children.

This Fund, founded by the late Mr. LI Po-chun, was established under the provisions of the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Ordinance (Cap. 1110). The Secretary for Home Affairs is the Chairman of the statutory committee which administers the Fund. Fund Objectives Approximately one half of the income of the Fund is used for scholarships, including overseas postgraduate scholarships, awards to students attending local tertiary institutions, the United World Colleges and Secondary 4 or above at one of four Anglo-Chinese secondary schools (namely, King's College, Queen's College, Queen Elizabeth School and Belilios Public School). The balance of the income is paid to the Director for Social Welfare for the relief of distress cases in which no adequate assistance is available from other sources. Scholarship Applications Applications for overseas postgraduate scholarships are invited through the Press in December every year. Application forms are available from the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Secretariat, Room 34/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong (tel no. 3718 6801).

The Ho Cheung Shuk Yuen Charitable Foundation (the Foundation) is a Hong Kong registered foundation founded in 2011 by the children of Ho Cheung Shuk Yuen in memory of their mother. The Foundation makes grants to enrich the lives of seniors by enhancing their psycho-social well-being and improving their cognitive functions, so as to facilitate aging in place with respect and dignity. The Foundation looks to: - support innovative projects or programmes; - identify best practices in order to scale up successful programmes; and - promote multi-disciplinary collaboration. In order to maximize the impact and effectiveness of its projects, the Foundation prefers to focus on a few selected programmes, so as to remain engaged long enough to make a measurable difference. To provide an affordable and immediate alternative of retirement for the elderly including those desperately waiting for a subsidized care bed and dementia sufferers, we are running an integrated home in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province as the first elderly home ever run in China by a Hong Kong charity. We provides Care Homes, Housing for the Elderly, Zhaoqing Home in Mainland China, Holiday Centre, Day Care Centre and various community support services for the elderly in Hong Kong. It is our firm belief that senior citizens should be entitled to enjoy a rich and dignified life after years of contribution to the society.

In a long run, the Fund also aims to improve the business environment in Hong Kong. Charitable work Subsidies for continuing education and employee retraining courses 1. To subsidize outstanding female post-secondary students for internships or exchange programmes in large-scale enterprises both in Hong Kong or abroad, so as to contribute towards a better local business environment in future; 2. To provide women in need (including housewives and unemployed women) with continuing education subsidies and retraining courses, in a view to equip them with skills, enrich their professional and academic knowledge, and boost their competitiveness in the labour market; 3. To provide underprivileged female students with financial support and learning tools, such as books, computers and school uniforms, to fight for the equality of opportunity in education, and to reduce the impact of intergenerational poverty on the younger generation; 4. To provide women from all walks of life with professional guidance according to their specific interests, and to regularly organize workshops, lectures and events that facilitate exchange between women entrepreneurs. The Fund leverages the knowledge and connections of a professional team, to promote knowledge transfer between women at large and successful women entrepreneurs, so as to assist women entrepreneurs to explore the Greater China market, and take their career to new heights.
