Storytaler is co-founded by Prof. Winnie Mak, Professor in CUHK Department of Psychology and Ms Amanda Li, Clinical Psychologist in 2015 and turned into a social enterprise in 2019. We aim to promote mental health and reduce psychiatric stigma. We believe we can all be a self-advocate and an advocate for others. We are a team of people with lived experience, clinical psychologists, people with psychology training, and the general public who have shared values and vision. We promote mental health and share stories on social media which is followed by over 40,000 audiences with over 2,000,000 organic reach. We also organize public exhibitions, storytelling days, seminars and workshops for the general public, corporates, schools and NGOs reaching a total of over 18,000 participants.

Afterschool development services combined with storytelling activities can also develop children's self-confidence and empathy, improve their communication skills as well as enhance their community engagement. Storytelling is always the best way to reach our second and third goals - to cultivate children's positive mindset and to embrace social inclusion.

We involve around 150 members mostly based in Hong Kong and our fellows extend to Shanghai, Taiwan and beyond Asia to the USA. Established in Hong Kong since 2008; we were initially set up as a non-profitable society serving the purpose to bond friendships and networking among young elites and entrepreneur. Recognizing the strength and capacity of this providential group while observing the need for support from our community, DTFU decided to give back and encourages social responsibility among our members.
