About the organisation
Founded in 2014, CarbonCare InnoLab (CCIL) dedicated to catalysing the transition to low-carbon lifestyles and promoting climate action. Through innovative approaches, community engagement, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, CCIL aims to empower society to effectively respond to the climate crisis. Additionally, we conduct research and educational initiatives to inspire climate ambition in Hong Kong and other cities in the region. At CCIL, we believe there is great value in an organisation which combines knowledge of the intricate issues of climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience, with the upbeat and youthful call to innovate, participate, and act. In 2015, the UN Climate Summit (COP21) adopted The Paris Agreement to limit temperature rise. CCIL as an observer in COP21 was motivated to stimulate the Hong Kong community into climate action, linking global, regional and local climate agenda. CCIL is registered under the laws of Hong Kong as a non-profit and tax-exempt charity.
Mission
CCIL envisions a sustainable future where climate actions are accessible and inclusive. Our mission is to nurture and expand a community active in climate justice through innovation, education, and action. We actively engage NGOs, businesses, policymakers, and youth in achieving a just transition to a low-carbon economy that respects and protects vulnerable communities.
