International and Foreign AffairsWe focus in three areas- the elderly, disadvantaged youth and ethnic minorities. We visit/ meet with NGOs in the fourth quarter of each year. After our visits we decide which NGOs we should ask to apply to us. After considering the application we distribute grants by not later than March. We wish our grant to have a transformational effect and therefore specialise in small NGOs with annual turnover of less than $10 million. We also like newer NGOs with dynamic leadership. We only make grants to those bodies with a section 88 IRO certificate. Last year (year 2020) we made some emergency grants to some NGOs who were suffering financially because of the effects of the protests and Covid. This is unlikely to be repeated and we will return to our Annual allocation exercise.
