HandsOn Hong Kong is a registered charity in Hong Kong, founded in 2007. We develops service programs to help local, under-served non-profit organizations and connect them with the volunteer manpower they need to achieve their mission. With a record 1.65 million Hong Kong people living in poverty, it is critical that we each do our part to support communities in need. At HandsOn we harness the spirit to serve in our city by empowering everyone in Hong Kong to volunteer. Every month, our team runs 200 volunteer activities on the HandsOn calendar as a free service. Each activity mobilizes Hongkongers to support under-resourced local charities and the vulnerable groups they serve. HandsOn provides behind-the-scenes support and trusted advisory to our charity partners year-round, serving as a vital extension of their teams. The spirit to serve in Hong Kong is stronger than ever, with over 45,000 volunteers in the HandsOn community. They support and connect with tens of thousands of people in need and critical causes every year. Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong Limited, The

The Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong (EMAHK) was founded in 2010. It was registered as a Society under the Hong Kong Societies Ordinance CAP.151 until March 2020 when it changed legal status and became registered as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Ordinance Cap.622. At the same time, EMAHK received approval from the Inland Revenue Department to operate as a charitable institution in accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance Cap.112 Section 88. EMAHK’s vision is to become a leading and recognised contributor to environmental management and sustainable development in Hong Kong, as well as drive the advancement of environmental management as a professional field. To achieve this, we regularly organize seminars by prominent speakers as well as technical visits for our members as well as non-members. We actively participate in community engagements and dialogues on environmental issues. The multi-disciplinary and professional background of our members provides EMAHK the necessary diversified experience to accomplish our goals. Mission - We will engage all stakeholders, including corporates, government, the public, special interest groups and NGOs to encourage transparent, purposeful and informed dialogue on environmental issues. - We are active principally in Hong Kong but also the rest of the region. - We want to promote an active exchange of knowledge amongst our members, thereby creating a dynamic resource for the whole community to use. - We seek to raise environmental awareness among the general public. - We are committed to acting objectively and impartially in the interest sound environmental management and sustainable development. - We encourage and enhance the development of environmental management skills and their application by individuals as well as institutions.

Able Charity Limited

ABLE Charity first came together back in 1993 as a Grassroots environmental action group. It was founded as a direct consequence from a lack of protection and a voice, for Lamma’s environment. A campaign was launched to stop the reclamation of a beautiful beach on the island which resulted in a success story that led to the official registration of the group as a charity with the Hong Kong government where it remains so to this very day. The charity has had a colourful history with a considerable amount of success, yet has always chosen to keep a low profile in the grand scheme of things to just get on with it. The Vision The Lamma Forest is a natural resource for all generations present and future, one whose value will increase in the years to come. The land currently has no adequate protection so the vision is to rezone the land into a Conservation Area (CA) thereby safe guarding it for the future. The Lamma Forest is a gift for one and all to enjoy. Our Mission We want to raise awareness about a fundamental integral link between people and ecology. They are one and the same, yet our modern lifestyle inadvertently separated as well as distanced humans from their environments. This has had serious consequences which have become quite obvious today, but less so in the early 1990’s of Hong Kong. Leading ABLE charity to be assume the responsibility of implementing change through direct action and by setting examples that inspire change in the behaviour, lifestyles and habits of people.
