第一城浸信會的成立是主內弟兄姊妹回應主耶穌當日的囑咐：「你們往普天下去，傳福音給萬民聽。」(馬可福音16:15)，弟兄姊妹們在聖靈的帶領和懇切的禱告下，於當時仍是新社區的第一城開始傳福音的工作。 使命宣言 我們是蒙上帝恩召的子民, 承擔主託付的使命, 傳揚福音, 建立門徒, 代代相傳, 服侍沙田社區以至普世。
