- Invitation of local pastors in the Philippines
At the invitation of local pastors in the Philippines, there were several meetings with leadership pastors in Iloilo City. During these gatherings, specific discussions took place regarding HKLTS accepting pastoral candidates from the Philippine Baptist Convention into its Bachelor’s and Master’s programs for theological education. In the Philippines, there is a growing number of young people who aspire to serve the church as future pastors.
- MOU with Nehemiah International
In May 2024, we held an MOU signing ceremony with Nehemiah International (NI), an NGO in Hong Kong. NI has been working in refugee and education ministries, and so HKLTS and NI were connected and shared a vision to work together to train local pastors and missionaries in the mission field with theological education. HKLTS and NI staffs gathered together for a talk and signing ceremony, followed by lunch fellowship.
- Southeast Asia (Laos & the Philippines) Visit
In May 2024, we travelled to Laos to promote the seminary. We were recommended by a pastor who is currently taking our English online course, and it was a great experience there in Laos. Not only did we meet the pastors of the local churches in Laos, but it was also a valuable time to see the need for theological education among Filipino missionaries who are serving in various countries in Southeast Asia.
