About

Description
Change is possible but we need support. Our charity is dedicated to finding a cure for paralysis and helping those who suffer spinal injury. “Many of the world’s greatest scientists and technologists have discovered breakthroughs that have the potential to impact paralysed people’s lives in the next 5 years. Yet, the interventions are held hostage in the minds and labs of these spectacular researchers due to systemic failures in translating research from the lab to the clinic.” The Ben Kende Spinal Research Foundation was formally created in 2019 by friends of young athlete Ben Kende in order to support spinal research. A rising star of Hong Kong rugby, Ben sustained a spinal cord injury while representing the territory at the Asian Junior Championship in August 2010 and is now adjusting to life as a tetraplegic with limited use of his arms and no use of his legs.
