- 珍惜生命基金会是由李家杰博士发起成立的公益慈善基金。在中国人民对外友好协会的支持和管理下，致力于开展“孤贫儿童出生缺陷医疗救助”、“优秀孤贫患儿助学培优”和“贫困患儿家庭产业扶持”等方面的公益活动。 自2009年起，基金会创始人李家杰博士开始关注贫困先心病儿童的医疗现状，并开始致力于内地孤贫儿童先心病的医疗救助。截止2022年4月中旬，已有超过47,000名患有先心病的贫困手术患儿得到救助，孩子们分布全国31个省、自治区和直辖市。 目前已在国内四十多家三甲医院设立定点医疗救助。每家医院均有医务社工，积极开展对救助患儿的帮助和指导，实现高效救助。同时，全力鼓励和支持定点合作医院专家团队深入欠发达地区，对那些亟需手术但因交通受限、信息闭塞而无法到达医院接受治疗的患儿，提供及时的医疗救助。 秉承理事长愿景，全面努力扩大救助规模和范围，高效、高质量的去帮助更多分布全国的困境先心病手术患儿。同时努力探索通过夏令营、教育帮扶、农业（产业）帮扶等方式，尝试对受助孤贫患儿生活、学习环境的改变做出努力。积极响应国家「共同富裕」号召。
