- Hong Kong Academy of Law Limited (“Academy”) was incorporated on 2 September 2008 as a company limited by guarantee and its charitable status was confirmed by the Inland Revenue Department shortly after its incorporation. The Academy is promoted by The Law Society of Hong Kong (“Society”) and is dedicated to reaching out and promoting law through education and training to the Society Members and to the local and international communities. The Academy of Law aims to: - Aspire to be a leading ambassador of the rule of law - Cultivate social awareness of the connection between law and other community development - Advance the learning of law in the local and international communities - Deliver quality training programmes for the legal profession - Enhance public awareness of the core values of the legal profession - Maintain a close link with law students and provide them with pathway guidance - Yield and nurture a professional ethic of public service among the legal profession
- Our mission is to strengthen the global finance industry by empowering women to achieve their professional potential at each career stage. We operate under a guiding principle that we call Vision 30/40. It is the goal for women to occupy 30% of senior investment roles and executive committee positions by 2040. Even with our efforts, and those of so many other organizations working towards gender equity, we still have quite a way to go for women to hold even close to the number of investment or executive roles in finance that men currently hold.
