About
- Description
- In 2013, Land Education Foundation (LEF) established as an independent NGO to promote circular economy by community building and farm land preservation in Hong Kong. LEF seeks to initiate community building projects that can mobilize action to move Hong Kong towards circular economy. We aims to set an example for how the city could realize societies in harmony with nature, through promoting practices like CSA(Community Supported Agriculture) and building networks adopting production activities that are ecologically and bio-diversity friendly. Mui Wo is small rural town in Lantau with 7000 population which had a long history of farming and community industry hub. For the past 3 years, LEF has been building a CSA model in Mui Wo since there is an increasing younger population to support farming in the area. LEF connected local residents to community entrepreneurs and local farms under the “Mui Wo Farm-to-table” and “From City to Rural: CSA and Community Building” scheme. With activities such as local tours, kaifongs capacity building workshops and farming programs, LEF is building a mutual support network among kaifongs, farmers and community entrepreneurs.
