In 1962, Typhoon Wanda hit Hong Kong severely. World Vision distributed relief supplies in Hong Kong, and later set up its first field office in the territory. With the economic recovery in Hong Kong, World Vision Hong Kong turned itself into a fundraising office in 1982, supporting the relief and development work of World Vision offices world-wide. In 2018, the people of Hong Kong sponsored over 230,000 children living in poverty, helping to fund World Vision Hong Kong’s international long-term ‘Area Development Programmes’. Urban Peacemaker Limited

Urban Peacemaker was founded in 1983 as a Christian social service organization. In our early years, we started to serve residents in various squatter areas. From 1996, we shifted our focus to serving poor families in the older city neighbourhoods, in particular those living in rooftop houses and subdivided units. In 2001, we were renamed "Urban Peacemaker Fellowship". From 2002, we expanded our services to interim housing and transit centre in areas like Tuen Mun and Yuen Long, further extending to Tseung Kwan O, Kwai Tsing, and other regions from 2005. Since 2008, we have collaborated with various churches to co-organize programs that mobilize believers for community care. We also work across sectors with businesses and professionals to collectively enhance social capital and build a sustainable support network. Responding to societal and family needs, we continuously update our services, covering areas such as grassroots children and youth, ethnic minorities, and mental health. 2023 marked our 40th anniversary. We were renamed "Urban Peacemaker Limited" and updated our logo. Moving forward, we will continue our service with the same values and a new image.

United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service (UCN) is an organisation of United Christian Medical Service. Founded in 1972 by Dr. Edward Paterson, Kwun Tong Community Health Project (predecessor organisation of UCN) provided professional, comprehensive and affordable medical service to community with “Hospital without Walls” concept. In 1997, Kwun Tong Community Health Project merged with Nethersole Community Health Service and renamed to United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service. UCN had become a comprehensive health care organisation focus for primary health care nowadays, by achieving the mission of “Leading a Health Life” covering the following key services: Preventive Medicine & Clinical Service, Chinese Medicine Service, Community Nutrition Service, Emotional Health & Counselling Service, Community Rehabilitation Service, Diagnostic Service, Social Service, and DHC Express (Kwun Tong and Tai Po).
