Human ServicesUrban Peacemaker was founded in 1983 as a Christian social service organization. In our early years, we started to serve residents in various squatter areas. From 1996, we shifted our focus to serving poor families in the older city neighbourhoods, in particular those living in rooftop houses and subdivided units. In 2001, we were renamed "Urban Peacemaker Fellowship". From 2002, we expanded our services to interim housing and transit centre in areas like Tuen Mun and Yuen Long, further extending to Tseung Kwan O, Kwai Tsing, and other regions from 2005. Since 2008, we have collaborated with various churches to co-organize programs that mobilize believers for community care. We also work across sectors with businesses and professionals to collectively enhance social capital and build a sustainable support network. Responding to societal and family needs, we continuously update our services, covering areas such as grassroots children and youth, ethnic minorities, and mental health. 2023 marked our 40th anniversary. We were renamed "Urban Peacemaker Limited" and updated our logo. Moving forward, we will continue our service with the same values and a new image.
