For many years, the Everbright Charitable Foundation has sustainably sponsored a number of social service projects benefitting communities in Hong Kong and mainland China related to four main themes including “Bright Companion”, “Vitality Everbright”, “ Education Support ” and “ Art Promotion ”, including: CECF has formed a close partnership with Lifeline Express over the past couple of years, becoming one of its largest funding sources to help cure cataract patients in poverty-stricken areas in the Mainland.

The charity operates at grass-roots level to ensure the adequate distribution of funds. It is fully transparent about its administrative costs. Our mission is to educate, train and support children and youth in Southeast Asia ; enabling them to improve their material living conditions and to build themselves up intellectually, emotionally and morally. We go where nobody else goes, to help the poorest children and their communities. We carry out programs in remote areas, slums and with ethnic minorities. From the interview, we realized that there are many grassroot families who want to be self-sufficient, but to achieve that they will need some support to reach this goal in order to give help back to the community when they are self-sufficient. This leads us to believe that it is essential for a balanced community to make every effort donate to the community and encourage the beneficiaries to give back to the community.
