於1979年美國宣教士Pastor David Poling (龐大衛牧師)，被神呼召，夫婦二人同心和憑著信心，離開自己的家鄉 Florida (佛羅里達州)，從美國來中國香港事奉。1980年和幾位同工建立了「中國基督徒神學院」，並於1986年開始擔任「中國基督徒神學院」院長直至現在，特意提倡聖經原文學習，主要教授新約希臘文、舊約希伯來文、亞蘭文、及聖經背景，盡力栽培學生以聖經原文解讀經文。 其中1983-84年曾擔任「神召會神學院」希臘文講師，及1983-89年擔任「香港神學院」希臘文及舊約世界等學科講師，四十年來，以身作則，並致力用廣東話悉心栽培和訓練基督信徒為全職牧者、傳道和委身帶職事奉者，造就不少忠心事主的僕人，並在香港各教會事奉和廣傳福音給中國的同胞。 「中國基督徒神學院」創立40年，其獨特的使命，就是為香港教會信徒欲投身全時間事奉神的僕人，而設立夜間神學學士學位及文憑等課程；並提供教牧同工對聖經原文希臘文、希伯來文初級及高級課程，加強聖經之原文釋經教導；各聖經原文教授來自美國中部伊利諾州 (Lincoln Christian Seminary, Lincoln, IL.) ，同時，強調小班教學，歷年來已在香港造就了不少教牧同工和信徒在教會事奉。

While developing the art of traditional Cantonese Opera and protecting the rights and welfare of fellow performers, CAAHK also aims at providing care to the old and weak, assisting the widowed and orphaned, performing ceremonies to pay tributes to the Chinese saints and ancestors, and nurturing new talents. Over the past 50 years, CAAHK has not only looking after the welfare of its members, but also actively participating in charity events for the community. Whenever there were huge disasters that struck Hong Kong, China of Asia, the CAAHK would immediately organize charity performances to raise funds and support those who were affected, events such as Love for Victims by CAAHK (八和愛心獻災民), Sending Warmth to Taiwan by CAAHK (八和送暖到台灣), Love for South Asia by CAAHK (八和愛心獻南亞), and Together CAAHK Warms Up Sichuan (八和同心暖四川) were held. On 17 December 2008, the CAAHK was registered as a charity organization. Committed to establishing and protecting the survival mechanism of Cantonese Opera in Hong Kong, CAAHK aims to strengthen the inheritance system and enhance the communication with various stakeholders in the society, thereby passing down the tradition of Cantonese Opera in a dynamic fashion.

China Oxford Scholarship Fund

Education

The China Oxford Scholarship Fund (COSF) awards scholarships to students from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macau who have won a place for postgraduate degree studies on a full-time basis at the University of Oxford. Up to twenty scholarships are awarded annually. Preference is given to those who are studying in the United Kingdom for the first time. Successful candidates are those of the highest calibre studying in any subject. They are chosen for their academic excellence, financial need, leadership quality and their commitment to contribute to the development of China.

Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Branch), The

The CIArb was founded in 1915 with the aim of promoting arbitration as an alternative method of dispute resolution to litigation. The objectives of the Branch are to provide a regional organisation for Members of the Institute (Fellows, Members and Associates) who are resident in East Asia generally. The purpose is to promote, encourage and facilitate the practice of settlement of disputes by arbitration and other means of dispute resolution, and to support and promote the status and interests of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. This includes: (1) providing education and training in areas including the law and practice relating to arbitration for those practising or wishing to practise as arbitrators; the reading of papers, delivery of lectures, etc. (2) holding demonstration arbitrations and the acquisition and dissemination by other means of useful information connected with arbitration; (3) promoting improvements in the law relating to arbitration and in the general practice of arbitration; and (4) promoting and protecting the interests of the public in relation to the conduct of arbitrations as a means of resolving disputes.

The CIBSE Hong Kong Region is one of the largest CIBSE regions and has about 2,800 members. CIBSE HKR represents CIBSE in Hong Kong, especially with respect to membership development, public image and co-ordination with other learned societies in Hong Kong. CIBSE HKR also administers the grant from Headquarters for the interest of CIBSE members in Hong Kong and conducts professional review interviews and training assessment in Hong Kong on behalf of Headquarters. Cecilian Singers, The

The Cecilian Singers was founded in 1962 and it is one of Hong Kong’s oldest running mixed choirs. We sing a wide-ranging repertoire from madrigals to world music; by composers ancient and modern, both a capella and accompanied. Our programmes reflect our love of choral diversity and it is something we are known for. The choir’s original aim was to promote European choral music with a repertoire spanning at least five centuries. It started out predominantly as an a cappella group, performing both sacred and secular music. Over the years, the choir has also sung some larger works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Handel, often with a small orchestra and soloists.
