About the organisation
Each year school children, businesses and the local community come together to donate gift boxes filled with essential, fun, and active items, to give to a child that would not normally receive a gift over the festive period. We work in collaboration with local, and a small number of overseas charities, to support the children and families who receive the boxes. None of what we do would be possible without the support of our volunteers, schools and sponsors, who support us both financially and in kind. In 2023 we delivered over 41,232 boxes to children, donated through 120 schools, 41 corporates and hundreds of individual volunteers.
Mission
Our mission is two-fold. Firstly, we bring the gift of joy to children living in challenging circumstances, who would not normally receive gifts during the festive period. In doing so, we believe we can work with schools and families to educate children about poverty and the impact it has on families who live within extremely limited means. As the wealth gap in Hong Kong continues to widen, it becomes increasingly important for children to appreciate their own situation and learn that not all children have equal opportunities.
