About the organisation

Formally established as a registered charity in Hong Kong in 2008, Captivating International began with a mission to support children and families in remote regions of China. Fast forward to today, we’ve expanded our reach to include Nepal and the Philippines. We are proudly registered in Hong Kong, Australia, and the USA, with independently audited accounts and tax-deductible status available for donors. Captivating’s work starts by finding a grassroots local partner already doing good work in their location, but through lack of finance and administrative support, is unable to make the impact the community and its children desperately need. We help stabilize their work, strengthen their capacity, and expand their impact. Sustainability is always central—ensuring both partners and the families they serve can eventually generate their own income and maintain long-term progress. Our programs focus on empowering women, educating children, and elevating communities. Together, these three pillars work to break the cycle of poverty and transform lives. EMPOWER WOMEN We believe that when women are given the tools and opportunities to succeed, they create lasting change for their families and communities. Through microfinance and skills development programs, Captivating helps women achieve financial independence and resilience. In Nepal and the Philippines, we fund microfinance expansion programs that support women living in high-poverty areas where the risk of human trafficking is high. To date, more than 4,000 women are part of these programs—and that number is growing every year. In China, we support remote women in Sichuan and Qinghai provinces through animal husbandry and tailoring training programs. Every year, around 200 women gain skills that help them start small businesses, earn income, and support their children’s futures. EDUCATE CHILDREN Education is one of the most powerful ways to protect children and unlock brighter futures. In China, while the government now provides nine years of compulsory education, many rural students are unable to continue to senior high school due to costs associated with boarding and tuition. We partner with local registered organizations to provide scholarships to these students—helping 500 scholars in China complete high school or vocational education. In Nepal and the Philippines, we run targeted awareness and advocacy campaigns to educate children and communities about the dangers of trafficking and online exploitation. So far, over 140,000 students have participated in these programs. ELEVATE COMMUNITIES From anti-human trafficking efforts to community development projects, this strategy is essential to building a future free from exploitation—a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. In Nepal, we’ve partnered with local organizations to establish anti-human trafficking border monitoring stations, intercepting girls at risk of being trafficked into India. On average, 15 girls are rescued each month from Captivating-funded checkpoints. These stations are supported by education and prevention programs that address trafficking at its roots, particularly extreme poverty and lack of awareness. Our Village Development Programs in Nepal and the Philippines offer holistic community support. In Nepal, this includes helping over 1,000 girls return to school, reaching 2,400+ people through free health camps, and providing livelihood support to 70+ families. In the Philippines, our newest initiative aims to end the slum story for girls and women by helping out-of-school girls return to education and supporting their families toward long-term sustainability. Currently, we’re reaching over 370 families in Manila’s most vulnerable communities. THE FUTURE Captivating is always seeking new opportunities to reach more children and families in need. At any given time, we have a "wish list" of projects ranging from US$5,000 to US$300,000. If you're passionate about making one of these projects happen, we would be thrilled to collaborate—and keep you updated every step of the way. Together, let's create a world where every person can reach their full potential.

Mission

Born into challenging circumstances, women and children in remote and impoverished areas face immediate and desperate barriers—trapped in cycles of extreme poverty, child labor, early marriage, and even the constant threat of human trafficking and cybersex crime. Without outside intervention, their chances for a brighter future remain out of reach. This is where Captivating International steps in. Through partnerships with trusted grassroots organizations, we reach the most vulnerable. Our mission is to break generational chains of poverty and transform lives by empowering women, educating children, and elevating communities across Nepal, China, and the Philippines.
