About the organisation
Families of SMA Charitable Trust (now known as Families of SMA Foundation Limited (FSMA)) was founded in 1998 by Dr. Mei Ling Fok, Ph.D together with professionals from various business sectors and other concerned parents of SMA children who understood so profoundly the sufferings of the SMA victims and their families. Our Charitable Objectives - Assist SMA patients and their family members to cope with challenges and lessen hardship and suffering - Promote public awareness and education of SMA in Hong Kong and Mainland China - Facilitate cooperation with health sectors and research centres - Provide medical, logistics and emotional support to SMA patients and families
Mission
To increase and promote public awareness and understanding of SMA diseases in Hong Kong; To provide financial support and assistance to needy SMA victims and their families; To support and fund on-going medical research; To keep a central registry of SMA patients for research and communication.
