About the organisation
The World Fellowship of Buddhists (The WFB) is an international organization and the regional centre of Hong Kong & Macau was founded in October 1952 by a group of Bhikkhu and Bhikuni Buddists. In October 1952, The WFB registered as a legal organization in Hong Kong. The WFB aims to promote Buddhism and work for peace and joy of all. In 1969, The WFB registered as a private limited company and was approved to be a charity organization in 1976, focusing on social welfare and early childhood education affairs. Aims and Objectives 1. To promote among the members strict observance and practice of the teachings of Buddha; 2. To secure unity, solidarity and brotherhood amongst Buddhists; 3. To propagate the sublime doctrine of the Buddha; 4. To organize and carry on activities in the field of social, educational, cultural, and other humanitarian services; 5. To work for securing peace and harmony amongst everyone, and happiness for all beings. And to collaborate with other organizations working for the same ends. Our Vision (1) Strive to be an excellent social welfare organization and education centres. (2) To promote the perfect doctrine of Buddha and train specialists to promote and participate in the organization. Our Mission (1) We adopt a variety of teaching methods in order to cultivate the best sides of young children. (2) Foster the development of children from the virtues of Morality, intelligence, physical, social and beauty, in order to build a strong foundation for their future learning.
