
About the organisation
The Foundation was established in October 2001 by Professor LAU Chak Sing, the Vice-President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health) (Interim) and Dean of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. It is a government-recognised charity aimed at improving the health and quality of life of patients with rheumatic diseases.
Mission statement
- Reduce the chances of disability for patients with arthritis and rheumatic diseases, and increase their self-care abilities - Provide educational, psychological, and financial support for patients with arthritis and rheumatic diseases who need treatment - Increase the awareness of rheumatic diseases among Hong Kong citizens and healthcare professionals - Promote effective prevention and treatment methods for arthritis and rheumatic diseases - Support local research related to arthritis and rheumatic diseases - Collaborate with local and overseas organisations to achieve the Foundation's goals
