About the organisation
Established in 1950, the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) belongs to one of the world's largest humanitarian network. We dedicate ourselves to protecting human life, caring for the health of the vulnerable and respecting human dignity by mobilizing people to serve voluntarily for the causes of humanity. The HKRC services include blood transfusion service, bone marrow and cord blood donation, disaster relief and preparedness, first aid and health training, youth and volunteer programmes, tracing, community care and patient concern services, special education and rehabilitation services.
Mission
In pursuing these objects and purposes, the Hong Kong Red Cross shall act at all times in accordance with the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as defined in the Statutes of the International Red Cross and the provisions of the Statues passed from time to time by the International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent as well as the recognised practices of the Movement.
