About the organisation
Established in 2016 with the support of The Chinese University of Hong Kong's Sustainable Knowledge Transfer Project Fund, SLCO Community Resources Limited (SLCO) is a s88 registered charitable organisation dedicated to fostering inclusivity and breaking down communication barriers. At the heart of SLCO's mission is the development and delivery of sign bilingual training and communication support services. Grounded in linguistic research and frontline experience, SLCO develops and delivers sign bilingual training and communication support services through the collaborative effort of deaf and hearing professionals, tailored to enrich the language, cognitive, communication, and interpersonal skills of individuals and communities. Committed to promoting and embodying inclusive values, SLCO strives to build a more accessible and diverse society free of communication barriers.
Mission
Our vision is an inclusive society where every life, of all ages and abilities, is connected and empowered to realise their full potential through sign bilingualism. We connect and empower individuals, of all ages and abilities, through the promotion and use of sign language, offering resources, support and training, and cross-sector partnerships and collaborations to enhance daily interactions and societal participation.
