About the organisation
Society of True Light is the first non-profit organisation that is advocating for the banning of conversion therapy and all other forms of sexual orientation change efforts (SOCE) in Hong Kong. We were established on 17 May 2018 (International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia). We have no religious background and aim to promote self-acceptance of sexual minorities through various means such as action, academic research, education, supervision, and publication. Society of True Light has organized various events in the past, such as the pioneering international conference on LGBT+ affirmative counseling practices in 2023, the Weight of Love Exhibition and Theatre Workshop in 2024, and made various publications, such as 2022 Research Report on SOCE in Hong Kong and LGB Counselling Handbook. Your generous donation will help Society of True Light organize more activities to promote the psychological well-being of sexual minorities in Hong Kong in the future. Society of True Light is a charity granted tax exemption under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (91/18962) of Hong Kong

Society of True Light Limited is committed to promoting dignity, wellbeing, and equality for LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. We work to eliminate harmful conversion practices, advance LGBTQ+ affirmative and evidence-based approaches, and foster acceptance through education, research, professional training, counselling, and public advocacy. Our mission is to create a compassionate, inclusive society where every person can live authentically, free from discrimination, harm, and stigma.
