About the organisation
Wu Oi Christian Centre was first started as a Teahouse by Rev. Harold Schock and Johnson Ngai in 1973. The former was an American Baptist missionary and the latter an overcomer. They held Christian meetings for drug addicts in Chuk Yuen region of Wong Tai Sin. As many needs got to be met, God led them to expand their works and set up Wu Oi (which means mutual love). It was later registered with the Government as an inter-denonminational and a non-profit making Christian organization in 1976.
