Research briefings on Hong Kong charities

What stays free

Anyone can search the directory, open a listing, compare organisations, and use published financial metrics where we already have them. Charities can claim and update their listing at no charge. This page does not put any of that behind a paywall.

What you can request

You name the organisations. We reply with scope and a quote, then deliver a briefing by email. Typical contents include identity and IRD status, governance notes, extracted financial figures where sources exist, funding history from Grant Finder, and gaps we could not fill.

• Public-sources briefing — we assemble what is already public (Charity Finder, Grant Finder, the charity’s own website). Faster, and no government filing fees.
• Company pack — the same briefing, plus official Companies Registry documents we obtain for that engagement when the organisation is a Hong Kong company. Per-file ICRIS fees (typically around HK$21) are quoted as disbursements before we purchase anything. Societies, trusts, and statutory bodies often have no ICRIS file; we will say so.

We do not sell a dump of audits, an API of government PDFs, or exclusive data. Extracted facts may still appear on the public listing so the directory gets more complete. Copies of ICRIS files are not republished on Charity Finder.

How this is paid

This is a research service for Foundation for Shared Impact, not a donation to a charity in the directory, and not a tax-receipted gift (use Donate if you want to support Shared Data generally). There is no self-serve checkout on this page: we confirm eligibility and cost first.
