Starfish Charitable Foundation Limited
HealthStarfish was founded in 2004 with a mission to provide medical treatments and feeding homes to orphans in mainland China. We focus on providing meaningful support and resources to underprivileged children in Hong Kong. Poverty is serious in Hong Kong: nearly every one in five children in Hong Kong is living in poverty. Underprivileged children stuck in poverty cycle: Children who grow up in low-income households tend to have less access to opportunities and therefore are more likely to remain poor in adulthood. Compounded with the lack of space in Hong Kong, underprivileged children are deprived of an environment where they can learn and develop happily and healthily. More than just formal education is needed: The Hong Kong government provides basic subsidies for school fees and supplies, but these are not sufficient. Underprivileged children are often unable to participate in the extra-curricular activities and outdoor activities that develop skills such as resilience and confidence, and ultimately enhance social mobility. It is Starfish’s mission to close the opportunity gap by providing much needed opportunities to underprivileged children in Hong Kong. We do not believe that the underprivileged should ‘lose at starting line’. Starfish’s goal is to close the opportunity gap and equalize opportunities. We strongly believe every child is worth investing in, and only if we invest in our children we can drive societal changes and create a more harmonious society.

Say Yeah Limited
EducationSAY YEAH is a charity organization based in Hong Kong. SAY YEAH is the english Pinyin close to the Cantonese common word 死嘢. By combining the two words together, 死嘢 becomes a slang with the best suitable meaning of “dead” and “dying soon.” The reason why we chose to incorporate SAY YEAH into our name is to have an emphasis on and remind people that to be afraid of dying is absolutely normal and not big of a deal. Therefore, we should be grateful, and ‘SAY YEAH’ To 死嘢. We aim to bring in innovative approaches, i.e. SAY YEAH education for students, in order to help them understand and experience the true meaning of death, so we can SAY YEAH to a new perspective on death. 死嘢 SAY YEAH is here to provide: 1. The SAY YEAH Hotline The SAY YEAH hotline mainly targets people who have suicidal thoughts and are seeking stress relief, to deliver them a message of: “what it means to cross the boundary between life and death.” 2. We know this because, for over two decades, we have been training caregivers to provide loving, nurturing care to marginalised children so they can have an equal start in life. And we have seen the results. Our teachable approach transforms young lives. Starting in China’s welfare institutions twenty years ago, we extended our trainings beyond teachers and nannies to reach at-risk communities and families in rural villages and factory zones.
