PETA Asia Limited
Environment and AnimalsPETA entities have more than 9 million members and supporters globally. PETA Asia is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals. It operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way and focuses on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment business. It also works on a variety of other issues, including spaying and neutering and the killing of “pests.” PETA Asia works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns. Located in Hong Kong, PETA Asia is the base for animal-rights campaigns across Asia, a region that is home to more than one-third of the world’s population. PETA Asia may be young, but it has already created quite a stir with attention-grabbing ads and groundbreaking protests in countries like Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan, where public demonstrations are rare. PETA Asia has already won victories big and small for animals—from shutting down a roadside zoo in Vietnam to distributing more than 35,000 vegetarian starter kits in the Philippines.

HK Shark Foundation Limited
Environment and AnimalsWHO ARE WE? Hong Kong Shark Foundation (HKSF) is a registered charity dedicated exclusively to shark conservation. We aim to raise awareness about shark conservation, particularly the unsustainable practice of shark finning, and to reduce consumption of shark products in Hong Kong. https://www.hksharkfoundation.org/about-us/ WHAT'S THE CHALLENGE? Every year, over 100 million sharks are caught worldwide for shark fins and other products, with over 50% of the world’s shark fin being traded through Hong Kong alone. As apex predators, sharks are a crucial part of the marine food chain. The demand for shark products has contributed to the rapid decline of many species, with several already nearing extinction. Removing sharks from our oceans will threaten the delicate balance of ecosystems that are valuable sources of food and key elements in regulating our climate. HKSF believes this a rare opportunity for people everywhere, especially in Hong Kong, to make a significant impact on a global scale. Please act now by helping raising awareness about shark conservation and by educating people to reduce the consumption of shark products globally to save the world’s sharks. OUR IMPACT To understand the impact our work has, we have put together an Impact Statement to show you our KPI's and ROI of our support. For more details, see link below: https://www.hksharkfoundation.org/2025/01/hksf-2024-impact-statement/ WHERE DOES YOUR DONATION GO? Your donation will be put towards excellent use helping us raise awareness about shark conservation through several of our campaigns as laid out below. You can also check out our website donation page here: https://www.hksharkfoundation.org/donations/. Active Campaigns: 1. Education - Our Shark Ambassador education program reached over 10,00 kids in 2024 at over 50 schools. HKSF's Shark Ambassador Education Program is a student-driven initiative that enables motivated students here in Hong Kong to become a vital part of the shark conservation movement. HKSF focuses on SDG #14LifeBelowWater and provides the mentoring, the training and basic materials to help new Shark Ambassadors learn more about the importance of marine conservation and sustainability, as well as how to best engage their peers. Once Shark Ambassadors have participated in our talk and training, they go out into their schools and communities hosting events, organizing fundraisers, and working with their teachers and HKSF to integrate conservation messages into the existing curriculum. To learn more, check out https://hksfambassador.wixsite.com/hksfambassador 2. Able Charity Limited
Environment and AnimalsABLE Charity first came together back in 1993 as a Grassroots environmental action group. It was founded as a direct consequence from a lack of protection and a voice, for Lamma’s environment. A campaign was launched to stop the reclamation of a beautiful beach on the island which resulted in a success story that led to the official registration of the group as a charity with the Hong Kong government where it remains so to this very day. The charity has had a colourful history with a considerable amount of success, yet has always chosen to keep a low profile in the grand scheme of things to just get on with it. The Vision The Lamma Forest is a natural resource for all generations present and future, one whose value will increase in the years to come. The land currently has no adequate protection so the vision is to rezone the land into a Conservation Area (CA) thereby safe guarding it for the future. The Lamma Forest is a gift for one and all to enjoy. Our Mission We want to raise awareness about a fundamental integral link between people and ecology. They are one and the same, yet our modern lifestyle inadvertently separated as well as distanced humans from their environments. This has had serious consequences which have become quite obvious today, but less so in the early 1990’s of Hong Kong. Leading ABLE charity to be assume the responsibility of implementing change through direct action and by setting examples that inspire change in the behaviour, lifestyles and habits of people.
