Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine Foundation Limited, The
Arts and Culture and HumanitiesIn pursuit of advancing the field of Chinese medicine to benefit humankind, a one-and-half day (14th -15th, December 2003) meeting was organized by the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. The meeting was attended by representatives of sixteen leading institutions in traditional Chinese Medicine and chaired by Prof Tommy Yung-chi Cheng, Henry Bronson Professor of Pharmacology, Yale University School of Medicine, USA. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by 16 prominent HK local and overseas institutions to form the "Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine (CGCM)". The current CGCM membership has 162 academic institutional members and 26 industrial affiliate members. CGCM will be positioned as a global, non-profit, non-discriminatory and non-political organization, with a mission of advancing the field of Chinese herbal medicine to benefit human kind through joint efforts of the academic institutions, industries and regulatory agencies around the world, by achieving our goals.

Its programming strives to increase public interest in classical music, and to foster arts and culture. Its events have taken place in both traditional venues and new spaces, such as beautiful heritage sites, offering memorable experiences to the audience. Supporting organisations of its past projects include the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Po Leung Kuk, Ming Pao, RTHK, and Alliance Française de Hong Kong. An advocate of new music, Concerto da Camera regularly commissions and performs works by living Hong Kong composers, and has received multiple supports from the CASH Music Fund. The organisation also collaborates with artists of disciplines outside music.

Arts and Culture and Humanities旺角是香港最繁盛的地區,行人如鯽,車水馬龍,不分晝夜。然而就在此間,就在萬頭湧動的高處,一幢道堂踞於其上,猶如一棵參天的老松,以其漫綠濃葉,庇蔭著不絕如縷的芸芸眾生 — 這就是松蔭園佛道社。 松蔭園始創於一九五五年夏天。時始創人葉培鈞道長蒙濟佛鸞示,設壇以普救群黎。遂與皈依弟子二十一人,以『贈醫施藥、惠助群倫、佛道教義、普濟眾生』為宗旨,合力於九龍福華街五號二樓創壇。道壇初名「松蔭園」繼改稱「松蔭園佛教社」。壇內恭奉觀世音菩薩、呂祖仙師、濟公活佛、華佗仙師及張三峯祖師,因佛道同參,後再更名為「松蔭園佛道社」,遷壇於亞皆老街六十九至七十一號六樓。 松蔭園創壇後,以開展善業作為首要任務,如義派棉衣,捐款賑災等,皆踴躍參與,不甘後人。另外,還曾為貧者施棺,包括功德法事,一概施贈。而在醫療方面,道壇很早便實行贈醫施藥,又監製成藥如呂仙丹等免費派發。另有氣功師駐壇為患者治療。每周所舉行之鸞事活動,亦歡迎善信問方取藥。由於道壇廣結善緣,因而道務迅速擴展。一九六四年道壇斥資購下現址彌敦道五七八至五八〇號其中單位遷入,然後又陸續購置相鄰單位,至今道壇已發展成為佔現址大廈三層,面積寛敝,殿宇輝煌的莊嚴道場。 一九七〇年,道壇依照不牟利慈善機構法例申請註冊為慈善社團,從此道壇進入新的發展時期。為擴大服務範圍,於黃大仙鳳凰新村鳳德道開設分社濟廬佛社,並在分社二樓開設濟法診所,延聘西醫,贈診施藥,深受當地居民歡迎。經過多年的發展,目前道壇有弟子眾多。除主要仙佛誕期均有活動外,慶燈勝會,誕期法會及九皇誕拜斗等為重要慶典。道壇乃自設訓練班,培訓弟子成經生,以為各種法會、法事活動醮制科儀之需。

Arts and Culture and Humanities鐘聲慈善社成立於 1915 年,由本港音樂及粵劇界前輩陳紹棠、錢廣仁、李善卿、何澤民等四位所倡辦。初名「鐘聲劇團」,同人公餘之暇,研習音樂劇藝,並粉墨登場,演唱於省港澳等地,旨在移風易俗及發揚中國傳統道德文化。1919 年正名為「鐘聲慈善社」,並推舉當時本港著名紳商曾富先生為首屆社長。除了致力於慈善救濟事業外,並以提倡體育、推行義務教育及發揚音樂戲劇藝術為宗旨。百年以來,在同人努力耕耘和各界指導匡扶支持之下,善業日益發展,現在已成為少數超過百年歷史的多元化非牟利慈善團體。
