Redress achieves this in a number of different ways largely driven by two pillars: waste prevention through educating fashion professionals, educators and the public; and waste transformation by providing consumer solutions for unwanted clothing through Get Redressed Month and Takeback programme. In 2021, Redress collected 48.1 tonnes of clothing through the Hong Kong Takeback programme, redistributing the clothing for reuse, resale and recycling and reducing textile waste.

Acts as a dealer for independent animal volunteers by provide them a platform to release their rescuing animals cases and gather funds to support their work in rescuing and fostering strayed and abandoned animals, providing them medical care and arrangement for suitable adopters. The group will issue the animal volunteers’ rescue cases in its social media, people can donate money to the volunteers via the Cat Volunteer United with related donation record sent to them, mentioning the independent volunteer(s) or rescue case(s) they wish to donate. The Cat Volunteer United will transfer the donation to the volunteer and the donor will receive the tax reduction receipt in return.

Zero Carbon Building
Environment and AnimalsHong Kong’s first zero carbon building, the CIC–Zero Carbon Park (“CIC-ZCP”), since its opening in 2012, acts as a test bed for state-of-the-art eco-building design and continually optimizing its technologies, also serves as an exhibition, education and information center. The CIC-ZCP raises awareness on the importance of green building design locally and internationally, and aspires to boost the public’s ecological value and living in low carbon lifestyle. With more than 200 species of flowers and trees at CIC-ZCP, as Hong Kong’s first urban native woodland, the area’s natural heartland, brings in birds and other animals start creating a very bio-diversified environment, to make it become a lush and vibrant sanctuary for visitors to relax. Most importantly, to create a paradigm shift towards sustainable living, and function as ‘green lungs’ for the high-density environment, breathing clean air and new life into Hong Kong. CIC-Zero Carbon Park (CIC-ZCP) is to serve as an exhibition centre, an education center and an information center for zero/low carbon building design and technologies, as well as promoting low carbon living in Hong Kong. It shall showcase the state-of-the-art eco-building design and technologies to the local and international construction industry. Also, it shall raise community awareness of low carbon living in Hong Kong and promote behavioral changes towards low carbon living. Moreover, it shall disseminate the latest information on low/zero carbon building technologies and share the smart city practices with industry stakeholders.
Hope House Organization
Environment and AnimalsHope House Organization was established in 2007. The founder is Mrs. Law, she started by feeding stray cats and dogs in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong and sterilizing them. After discovering that some of them had a gentle personality and some were injured due to their homeless life, she decided to set up a shelter to help poor dogs and cat finding homes and take care of injured animals. In 2008, we established a shelter for stray cats and dogs on a farmland in Yuen Long, Hong Kong and officially applied to become a charity organization. At present, our association mainly takes in abandoned, abused and injured cats and dogs. Because we adhere to the principle of never killing or abandoning, the current number is close to 200, mainly Tang dogs and Tang cats! At present, the operation of the association mainly relies on volunteers and public donations of food, and medical institutions provide treatment for sick animals at preferential prices to maintain the operation of the association. Since our institution has been established for many years, there are many areas in need of repairs, so we are in great need of assistance. 本會成立於2007年,創辦人羅太源於在屯門餵飼流浪貓狗並帶牠們絶育開始,由於發覺他們部份性格溫純 亦有部份因為流浪生活而受傷,繼而立志要成立一個院舍來幫助他們尋家及照顧受傷貓狗,2008年我們在元朗一農地建立流浪貓狗院舍,並正式申請成為慈善機構。現本會主要收容被遺棄、被虐待及受傷貓狗,因為我們堅持不殺不棄的宗旨,現時數量接近二百隻,主要是唐狗及唐貓! 現時本會之運作主要依賴義工及公眾捐贈糧食, 及醫療機構以優惠價格向生病動物提供醫治, 以維持本會運作。由於本會院舍已建立多年, 有很多地方需要維修, 故非常需要援助。

Fisheries Enhancement Fund, The
Environment and AnimalsAs part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study, Airport Authority (AA) has committed to formulate and implement a Marine Ecology and Fisheries Enhancement Strategy (MEFES). The MEFES has been set up for the purpose of enhancing the marine environment for the benefit of marine ecology (including Chinese White Dolphins (CWDs)) and fisheries resources in the vicinity of the project area, in Hong Kong western waters and further afield into the Pearl River Estuary (PRE). The MEFES also functions to provide support and assistance to affected fishers, and to encourage more sustainable fishing operations. In accordance with the Environmental Permit (EP) conditions 2.8 and 2.13, AA has established the independent Marine Ecology Enhancement Fund (MEEF) and Fisheries Enhancement Fund (FEF), respectively, to fund initiatives proposed by third‐parties (eg Non‐governmental organisations (NGOs), researchers and the fishery sector) that support the objectives of the MEFES. A Fisheries Management Plan (FMP) was developed and approved by the Director of Environmental Protection on 18 March 2016, which describes the proposed mechanisms for implementing the FEF, as well as the goals and themes under which funding applications can be made.
