Our key projects and initiatives include monthly nature clean-ups, community recycling booths, the “Codex of Waste” that records and analyses trash from our nature clean-ups, and our “Green School” education programs focusing on experiential learning. Our work in media and communications include editorial features published in community newspapers and monthly environmental news roundups, green tips and other updates published on our social media platforms. We also collaborate with social enterprises and charities on various community initiatives, such as the “Gift n Take” community fridge project and Chinese New Year rice cake charity sales, which promote resource sharing as a means to co-create a sustainable and impactful ecosystem.

The mission of Water for Free is to share and communicate with the public the issues regarding water fountains, raising awareness and promoting its use in order to reduce plastic waste. We realize the insufficiency and inadequacy of the provision of water fountains in Hong Kong. That’s why we need to amplify our voice so that the public and the authority will pay more attention to the issue. Plastic waste does not only fill up our landfills, it also spills into the seas and mountains, posing great threats to wildlife. According to 2015 figure, 136 tonnes of PET bottle waste was dumped in Hong Kong, which could be converted to about 5 million beverage bottles! How does it get so devastating? Bottled water, cheap and expensive alike, have been marketed extensively throughout the city. While we already have high quality tap water, why spend a thousand time more on bottled water and creating unnecessary waste?

History The Geological Society of Hong Kong (GSHK) was established by a group of local geologists in 1982 with an aim to advance geological sciences in Hong Kong and to provide a platform for both professionals and amateurs to meet. Since then, GSHK holds regularly geological conferences and seminars, and organises local and overseas field trips for both members and non-members to explore the geological world. At present, the society maintains a steady membership of about 250, including professional geologists from the public and private sectors, academia, as well as teachers, students and amateurs. Visions and Missions GSHK is a non-profit making organisation that aims to enhance geological interests and studies in Hong Kong. The Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong (EMAHK) was founded in 2010. It was registered as a Society under the Hong Kong Societies Ordinance CAP.151 until March 2020 when it changed legal status and became registered as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Ordinance Cap.622. At the same time, EMAHK received approval from the Inland Revenue Department to operate as a charitable institution in accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance Cap.112 Section 88. EMAHK’s vision is to become a leading and recognised contributor to environmental management and sustainable development in Hong Kong, as well as drive the advancement of environmental management as a professional field. To achieve this, we regularly organize seminars by prominent speakers as well as technical visits for our members as well as non-members. We actively participate in community engagements and dialogues on environmental issues. The multi-disciplinary and professional background of our members provides EMAHK the necessary diversified experience to accomplish our goals. China Hong Kong Chapter of the Alliance for Healthy Cities, The

Under the District Administration Scheme launched since 1982, Hong Kong is divided into 18 administrative districts. The first Healthy City Project (HCP) of Hong Kong was initiated in Sai Kung District in 1997. This first-ever HCP was featured by its bottom-up approach where tremendous efforts have been made in engaging the community to promote health awareness and to make collaborative efforts in building a healthy community. A cohesive partnership infrastructure across sectors conducive to sustainable development has also been built. Over the years, more and more districts in Hong Kong joined the “Healthy Cities” movement. When the Alliance for Healthy Cities was inaugurated in 2004, Sai Kung and Kwai Tsing Districts were among the founding members. To consolidate the work of various administrative districts and to take forward the “Healthy Cities” initiative in a synergistic manner, the China Hong Kong Chapter of the AFHC was established in September 2007. The Inauguration Ceremony of the China Hong Kong Chapter cum “Healthy Cities” Forum was held on 14 September 2007 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Overseas speakers included Dr. Shigeru Omi, the then Director of the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office and academics/ experienced practitioners from Australia, South Korea, Japan, China and Macau.

Since its beginnings as the Food Sharing Project in 2009, Food Commons has pioneered food recovery initiatives that combine environmental protection with community mutual aid. Operating as Food Commons Foundation Limited since 2015, we have rescued more than 11,373 metric tons of edible food, benefiting over 10.07 million people. Every HK$1 donation generates HK$6.5 worth of fresh food, supporting hundreds of grassroots families and elderly each week. With shifting government policies and the conclusion of our market recovery project, continued community support is critical to sustain this safety net and prevent fresh food from being discarded.

儘管香港有很多愛護動物的主人，但香港仍有很多流浪動物默默地忍受著顛沛流離、饑腸轆轆的日子，更有動物受重傷、被棄養，甚至被人虐待。有見及此，浪浪之家致力為這些因悲痛過去以致身體或性格有缺憾的動物提供一個「家」，讓牠們也能快樂地生活。 浪浪之家 (Home for Homeless Dog) 成立於2019年，並坐落於大埔一個偏遠村落。創辦人 April 自幼喜愛狗隻，為建設一個狗狗的安樂窩，毅然辭職賣樓斥資興建狗舍，全心全意地照顧流浪狗，並為牠們嚴選合適的領養者，希望可憐的狗隻能開心過活。 ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Despite having many animal-loving owners in Hong Kong, there are still numerous stray animals silently enduring a life of uncertainty and hunger. Some animals suffer from severe injuries, abandonment, and even abuse. In response to this situation, Home for Homeless Dog is dedicated to providing a "home" for these animals who have experienced a painful past, resulting in physical or behavioral challenges, allowing them to live happily. Established in 2019, Home for Homeless Dog is located in a remote village in Tai Po. The founder, April, has had a love for dogs since childhood. Determined to create a haven for dogs, she resigned from her job and sold her property to build a shelter. April wholeheartedly cares for stray dogs and carefully selects suitable adopters, hoping to provide a joyful life for these unfortunate animals.
