- 本會（前身為當代聖經出版社）於1987年11月成立，目標是把聖經翻譯成淺白易明的當代文體，使普羅大眾都能明白其中的真理。1992年，當代聖經出版社總會與國際聖經協會合併成為一獨立之新機構，本會亦更名為國際聖經協會，目標仍然是支援堂會，用聖經作傳福音和栽培信徒的事工。2003年本會再次進入一個全新階段，成為普世華人教會所屬的聖經機構：“漢語聖經協會”。 新名稱反映了一些新的實質，卻也沒有忽略原有根基和定位：專注服侍全球華人社羣和華人教會，支援堂會成長，建構聖經文化。為將我們的服侍延展至世界各地華人羣體，加拿大漢語聖經協會、美國漢語聖經協會及台灣的國際漢語聖經出版社相繼成立。為的是要完成上帝交託我們的使命：“聖經傳萬家，救恩臨天下”。 我們的異象 「聖經傳萬家，救恩臨天下」是漢語聖經協會（漢協）的異象。漢協是一個致力推動華人聖經事工的機構，並將聖經出版與宣教理念結合，透過向全球中文讀者提供不同媒介與類型的聖經讀本和研經材料，讓信徒與非信徒從聖經中認識神，生命得到改變。我們從四方面進發，達成這項目標：聖經翻譯、聖經培育、聖言中心和聖經外展事工。
