- Empower Asia started as a dream planted in the heart of Maik and Katie Friedrich as they met university students who were struggling to find meaning and purpose in their lives and futures. After a number of years investing in these young people, the desire was born to continue and grow the work. Today, Empower Asia is a registered Hong Kong non-profit whose small team shares that same passion to positively impact the next generation and empower people to create lasting change in their lives and in the world. Our mission is to equip young people with today’s most relevant career and life skills for thriving in academia and the workplace. Our vision is for young people across the city of Hong Kong to realise lasting personal, societal, and global change wherever they go.
