Description: Families of SMA Charitable Trust (now known as Families of SMA Foundation Limited (FSMA)) was founded in 1998 by Dr. Mei Ling Fok, Ph.D together with professionals from various business sectors and other concerned parents of SMA children who understood so profoundly the sufferings of the SMA victims and their families. Our Charitable Objectives - Assist SMA patients and their family members to cope with challenges and lessen hardship and suffering - Promote public awareness and education of SMA in Hong Kong and Mainland China - Facilitate cooperation with health sectors and research centres - Provide medical, logistics and emotional support to SMA patients and families; Our mission is to strengthen the global finance industry by empowering women to achieve their professional potential at each career stage. We operate under a guiding principle that we call Vision 30/40. It is the goal for women to occupy 30% of senior investment roles and executive committee positions by 2040. Even with our efforts, and those of so many other organizations working towards gender equity, we still have quite a way to go for women to hold even close to the number of investment or executive roles in finance that men currently hold.
