About

Description
The Good Citizen Award (GCA) scheme was introduced in 1973 to recognize individuals with contribution to the fighting of crime. Monetary awards funded by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) are given to members of the public who are recommended by the Police and render positive assistance to the Police in prevention or detection of crime, or in the apprehension of criminals. In 1984, an additional award, the Good Citizen of the Year Award (GCYA), was established to laud the ‘Best Good Citizen’ of the year. The objectives of scheme are to encourage members of the public to report crime to the Police, to be prepared to act as witnesses and to help others when appropriate.

The organisation is dedicated to serving the elderly community. It provides supportive programs such as its 'Worry-Free Services' to enhance the well-being and peace of mind for seniors.
