About
- Description
- In 2017, MakerBay Foundation was established by Cesar Jung-Harada, a Japanese-French educator, environmentalist, and entrepreneur, in order help underserved youth to make an impact by developing their maker skills and mindset, as well as forming an inclusive maker community. We operate from one of the largest makerspace in Hong Kong to offer people the space, tools and training to become innovators. For our projects, we have developed a comprehensive innovation curriculum, backed by a large community of scientists, artists, researchers and experts from Academia. Apart from the makerspace in Tsuen Wan and a smaller one in PMQ Central, we also assist in setting up makerspaces in youth centers and schools, both in Hong Kong and abroad. We are convinced that everybody can learn to make something. Local innovation can create a global impact! Our Vision Empower the next generation of innovators to have a positive social and environmental impact Our Mission Innovate by offering the best resources for impact makers: 1. Building a community of makers 2. Proposing a hands-on education 3. Doing impactful projects Our Values We value creative confidence, collaboration, respect and passion in innovating solutions for the good of society and the environment Our Services At MakerBay, we provide a wide variety of services beyond education and membership, with the following goals: 1. To train professionals to teach future-proofing topics in public schools 2. To train professionals to support “blue sky” and “out of the box” thinking 3. To provide opportunities to use and experiment with technology 4. To help students to build up a positive identity 5. To build a connection between school curriculum and real-world problems
- "Yes I Can" Education Fund Limited is a charity dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through transformative overseas experiences. The organisation provides scholarships for students to participate in a one-year high school exchange program in the United States. This opportunity is designed to broaden their horizons, inspire them to see a future full of possibilities, and help them break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. The fund operates on the belief that when young people can see a future, they will not give up on themselves.
