This Fund was created with an initial donation of $1 million by Sir Shiu-kin Tang to commemorate Sir Robert Black's governorship. The Fund is managed by a Statutory Committee set up under the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Ordinance (Cap. 1101).
Fund Objectives
The Fund aims to provide -
Type I grants: Grants to social welfare or youth organisations and other suitable institutions in support of local or overseas development programmes (e.g. leadership training courses, study tours and conferences with a high training element) which they organise or participate in through representation or delegation.
Type II awards: Awards to individuals for postgraduate studies or other training programmes, local or overseas.
Method of Application
Applications for Type I grants or Type II awards are invited through press advertisements in mid January every year. Applications may be returned to the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Secretariat, Room 34/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
