The objectives for which the Foundation is established are: - To advance the protection of the environment in Hong Kong - To protect the global marine ecology and conservation of natural marine resources - To increase public interest in environment education and oceanic conservation - To grant assistance to candidates for their education, which provide formal training in global marine ecology and oceanic conservation. As a leading conservation and education organisation based in Hong Kong, we promote sustainable living lifestyles through public education and celebrity-driven mass media campaigns. We also strive to inspire a great love of nature so that together we can learn how to responsibly maintain the vital balance that supports all life as we know it.

EnviroTech Foundation (ETF) is established in 2007. We are a Hong Kong based government recognized charitable organization (File No: 91/9253) dedicated to empowering sustainable development with environmental technologies in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta in mainland China. The inspiration for the foundation is derived from Founding President, Dr William CG Ko who devotes his lifetime service to Hong Kong’s water supplies, in improving the quality and quantity of water supply from the East River. He participated in all the 4 stages of improvement in the East River water supply. As an engineer helping Assistant Director (AD) Lau in Stage I, as a senior engineer helping AD Leung in Stage II, as the AD himself in Stage III and as the Director of Water Supplies in Stage IV. He has thus been called “Father of East River Supply to Hong Kong”. We are an advocate for sustainable business solutions and a platform for exploring the latest development and best practices of low carbon and other environmental technologies. Our vision is to connect people, ideas and resources to solving climate change challenges and environmental problems in both Hong Kong and our motherland – the People’s Republic of China. The Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) has been set up since 1990 to promote public awareness of environmental issues and encourage the public to contribute actively towards a better environment. Committee members are appointed by the Chief Executive. Representatives of relevant government departments, including the Environmental Protection Department, also sit on the Committee. Since its establishment, the ECC has planned and organized many environmental events and activities for different sectors of the community.

The Environment and Conservation Fund Ordinance (Cap. 450), which established the Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF), was enacted in June 1994. The ECF came into operation in August 1994. Section 5 of the Ordinance (Cap. 450) provides for the Secretary for Environment and Ecology to act as the trustee of the ECF. Section 7 of the Ordinance provides for the establishment of an Environment and Conservation Fund Committee.

The venue of the foundation is in a private environmental protection site with a total area of 120,000 square feet in Kam Tsin Village, Sheung Shui. The site brings together various professional environmental protection organizations/companies, including food waste recycling, organic planting, and plastic recycling. , Microalgae cultivation, electric buses and other projects.

Tai O Stray Cat Home

Our objectives include: - To promote cat adoption, help homeless cats to find homes; - To spay/neuter cats rather than killing; - To provide food to keep stray cats from going hungry; - To provide basic medical treatment to stray cats; - To promote the awareness of caring and protecting animals in the community. Challenge The problem of stray cats has never been taken seriously due to the lack of resources and ignorance by the government. With our mission and objectives, we need a lot of funding to provide medical care and neutering the stray cats, and to prevent them from starving. Solution Tai O Stray Cats Home helps stray cats by means of providing daily living support and neutering to control its population. It also provides proper care to rescued new born cats until they are adopted. Long-Term Impact We hope by our rescue effort and ongoing support, we can successfully raise the awareness in the community to love and respect animals, and to reduce the number of abandoned pets.

The HKGBC strives to promote the standard and development of sustainable buildings in Hong Kong. The HKGBC also aims to raise green building awareness by engaging the government, the industry and the public, and to develop practical solutions for Hong Kong’s unique, subtropical built environment of high-rise, high density urban area, leading Hong Kong to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and to become a world’s exemplar of green building development.
