EnviroTech Foundation (ETF) is established in 2007. We are a Hong Kong based government recognized charitable organization (File No: 91/9253) dedicated to empowering sustainable development with environmental technologies in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta in mainland China. The inspiration for the foundation is derived from Founding President, Dr William CG Ko who devotes his lifetime service to Hong Kong’s water supplies, in improving the quality and quantity of water supply from the East River. He participated in all the 4 stages of improvement in the East River water supply. As an engineer helping Assistant Director (AD) Lau in Stage I, as a senior engineer helping AD Leung in Stage II, as the AD himself in Stage III and as the Director of Water Supplies in Stage IV. He has thus been called “Father of East River Supply to Hong Kong”. We are an advocate for sustainable business solutions and a platform for exploring the latest development and best practices of low carbon and other environmental technologies. Our vision is to connect people, ideas and resources to solving climate change challenges and environmental problems in both Hong Kong and our motherland – the People’s Republic of China. Environment And Conservation Fund

The Environment and Conservation Fund Ordinance (Cap. 450), which established the Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF), was enacted in June 1994. The ECF came into operation in August 1994. Section 5 of the Ordinance (Cap. 450) provides for the Secretary for Environment and Ecology to act as the trustee of the ECF. Section 7 of the Ordinance provides for the establishment of an Environment and Conservation Fund Committee.

Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong Limited, The

The Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong (EMAHK) was founded in 2010. It was registered as a Society under the Hong Kong Societies Ordinance CAP.151 until March 2020 when it changed legal status and became registered as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Ordinance Cap.622. At the same time, EMAHK received approval from the Inland Revenue Department to operate as a charitable institution in accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance Cap.112 Section 88. EMAHK’s vision is to become a leading and recognised contributor to environmental management and sustainable development in Hong Kong, as well as drive the advancement of environmental management as a professional field. To achieve this, we regularly organize seminars by prominent speakers as well as technical visits for our members as well as non-members. We actively participate in community engagements and dialogues on environmental issues. The multi-disciplinary and professional background of our members provides EMAHK the necessary diversified experience to accomplish our goals. ERF aims to provide prompt assistance to persons in need of urgent relief as a result of fire, typhoon, flooding or other natural disasters. Grants from the Fund are intended for relief rather than compensation. SWD is responsible for grants in respect of personal injury or death, while the Lands Department, Marine Department and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department are responsible for other categories of grants.
