Founded in 1950, the Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Limited has been upholding the four doctrines, “Give Mutual Help, Share Joys and Sorrow, Show Support at Difficult Time, Make Changes in Customs and Traditions” to serve residents in the Southern District. In 1976, our Association established the Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service (formerly named “Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service Centre”). To achieve our mission, “Promote Mutual Concern among Neighbours; Nurture Talents to Serve the Community; Enhance Well-being to Promote Health for All”, we are committed to providing multi-farious social welfare services to community with our belief of “Care, Helpfulness, Accessibility, Reliability, Mutuality”. Today, the AKA has 28 service units and an array of special projects, with service scope covering the elderly, children and youth, family and community, social enterprise, education and health, etc., so as to provide diversified services for residents.

History The Geological Society of Hong Kong (GSHK) was established by a group of local geologists in 1982 with an aim to advance geological sciences in Hong Kong and to provide a platform for both professionals and amateurs to meet. Since then, GSHK holds regularly geological conferences and seminars, and organises local and overseas field trips for both members and non-members to explore the geological world. At present, the society maintains a steady membership of about 250, including professional geologists from the public and private sectors, academia, as well as teachers, students and amateurs. Visions and Missions GSHK is a non-profit making organisation that aims to enhance geological interests and studies in Hong Kong. We believe that geological knowledge is indispensable for achieving a sustainable community, and therefore ought to be widely promoted to the general public.

We collaborate with schools and other partners to offer programmes to Chinese- and English-speaking youth between the ages of 14 and 24 around our three core focus areas: Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Mental Health & Wellbeing, and Positive Youth Development. Drug and Alcohol Awareness At KELY, we work to prevent and reduce the harm associated with drug and alcohol abuse. Our Drug and Alcohol Awareness programmes equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to avoid using drugs and alcohol, protect themselves and make healthy choices, and support their peers. Mental Health & Wellbeing We take at preventative approach to our Mental Health & Wellbeing programmes and focus on helping young people to understand their own emotions, cope with stress, and know how to help themselves as well as their peers. In situations where we identify additional mental health needs, we work with a strong network of referral organisations that can provide in-depth one-on-one counseling. Positive Youth Development Our Positive Youth Development programmes create opportunities for young people to explore and develop life skills and creative expressions, increasing their aspirations for the future. Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre offers multi-professional services to anyone diagnosed with cancer, their family members, friends and carers. Maggie’s Centre is based in Tuen Mun Hospital, within walking distance from its oncology department. All of Maggie’s services are offered free of charge. When visitors walk through the door, they are greeted by our cancer support specialists, who will listen, answer questions and talk through the elements of Maggie’s Cancer Support Programme, assessing which programme is suitable for them personally. Our aim is to help people equip themselves with effective ways to face and cope with cancer diagnosis, treatments, and psychological, informational, and emotional impacts of cancer. The welcoming, home like environment of our Centre is part of the Maggie’s integrated ethos. The comfortable setting allows you to be yourself, not a hospital patient.
