Its work was mainly welfare and relief in the initial stage, the services provided included medical service, refugee service, welfare fund and educational sponsorship scheme. The emphasis of the Agency’s work has gradually changed in light of the changing needs of the society. Up till present, there are the following services: elderly services, integrated youth service, school social work, family service, counselling service, child care services, Clinical Psychological Service, Educational Psychological Service and social enterprise. To assist people to solve their problems, to actualize their potentials, to develop positive life goals and personality, to enable their self-help and mutual help abilities. It is hoped that with our services the love and mercy of God will be shared.

WHO ARE WE? Hong Kong Shark Foundation (HKSF) is a registered charity dedicated exclusively to shark conservation. We aim to raise awareness about shark conservation, particularly the unsustainable practice of shark finning, and to reduce consumption of shark products in Hong Kong. https://www.hksharkfoundation.org/about-us/ WHAT'S THE CHALLENGE? Every year, over 100 million sharks are caught worldwide for shark fins and other products, with over 50% of the world’s shark fin being traded through Hong Kong alone. As apex predators, sharks are a crucial part of the marine food chain. The demand for shark products has contributed to the rapid decline of many species, with several already nearing extinction. Removing sharks from our oceans will threaten the delicate balance of ecosystems that are valuable sources of food and key elements in regulating our climate. HKSF believes this a rare opportunity for people everywhere, especially in Hong Kong, to make a significant impact on a global scale. HKSF's Shark Ambassador Education Program is a student-driven initiative that enables motivated students here in Hong Kong to become a vital part of the shark conservation movement. HKSF focuses on SDG #14LifeBelowWater and provides the mentoring, the training and basic materials to help new Shark Ambassadors learn more about the importance of marine conservation and sustainability, as well as how to best engage their peers. Once Shark Ambassadors have participated in our talk and training, they go out into their schools and communities hosting events, organizing fundraisers, and working with their teachers and HKSF to integrate conservation messages into the existing curriculum.
