1. SoCO's Vision Equal for All For the past 45 years, SoCO upholds the motto that all people are equal. We believe in the rule of law. We advocate that the basic rights of all people should be protected under the law. We are also of the view that the community needs to supervise the performance of the government in an effective manner. Apart from providing daily services, we unite the vulnerable groups and help them fight for their rights and better lives through a fairer distribution of social resources. We want everyone to have an equal chance for development. We also want to raise the people’s social consciousness through civic education. People's Participation SoCO believes that the foundation of a solid democratic system and a fair society is through the participation of the people in the decision-making process of the government. Throughout the years, SoCO has introduced a series of civic education programs to cultivate a sense of direction and political responsibility in the community and grassroots organizations. The aim is to consolidate civic power. A Caring Society It is also our belief that to build a society respecting human rights, reasonable social policies including housing, medical and retirement schemes should be introduced to achieve a redistribution of resources. To achieve this, strong social actions based on mass mobilization are called for. 2. SoCO pioneers efforts to mobilize the grassroots people to accomplish community organization among the citizens of Hong Kong. The aim is to establish a real power base for the people to protect their civil, political, economic and social rights. SoCO strives for greater social justice, equality and democracy through the different campaigns. The basic philosophy of empowering the people for structural changes is the firm adherence to the community approach in solving social problems based on the results of policy analysis and empirical research.

本教會開始於一九三八年，初時聚會借九龍城打鼓嶺道伯特利地方舉行，後來遷士他令道浸信會。光復時則假太子道303號地下吳清池先生（即吳毓輝前主席令尊）府上，不久又再遷士他令道浸信會聚會。 主日講道初時由主內弟兄姊妹輪流負責，及蒙伯特利教會牧師及各教會牧師幫助，主理講道，後來本會聘請陳應希先生為第一任傳道，第二任傳道為金腓力先生。一九四七年蒙神安排，得聘簡賜福先生為第三任傳道，並於一九五三年三月一日按立簡賜福先生為本會牧師。 一九四九年本會先賢前輩感於必須要有自己的禮拜堂及學校，所以發起籌建禮拜堂及學校運動，成立了九龍閩南中華基督教會籌建委員會，並於一九五四年向政府正式註冊為法團，展開籌募建堂、建校運動，獲海內外主內弟兄姊妹及美國歸正教會支持及奉獻，並蒙政府批贈天光道一幅三萬餘尺地皮為建堂，建校之用，感謝上帝，禮拜堂終於一九五八年在天光道舉行動土禮，一九五九年舉行獻堂禮。

自1905年開始，位於中國華中地區(包括河南、湖北、湖南、陝西四省)的豫中總會，其所屬美國奧古斯坦納差會，委派易德文夫婦來華，在河南中部開始傳福音工作。直至1949年為止，該會已有受洗信徒七千多人。 記敘以上一段事蹟，為要帶出永生堂的成立和發展與它們有著一定的歷史淵源。以下便是永生堂歷年的大事簡記，盼望能閱讀本文的朋友，對這個上帝的家－永生堂有一概略的認識和了解。 1952 : 朱蒙恩師母於李鄭屋村傳福音，堂會名稱為「基督教香港信義會李鄭屋村禮 　 　 　拜堂」。 1953 : 屈金山長老任職傳道及平民識字班校長。 1956 : 何榮輝長老任職傳道。 1957 : 本堂申辦了天台小學。 1959 : 香港信義會總會接納本堂成為香港信義會轄下之會員堂會。 1962 : 本堂改名為「永生堂」。 1963 : 聘請高潔謙教士為女傳道。 1965 : 遷堂至保安道。 1967 : 王靜濤教師按立為牧師。 1968 : 推行自立自養計劃。 1974 : 天台小學停辦。 1976 : 搬入新堂址 : 醫局街 128-132 號金輝樓四樓聚會。（即現址） 1977 : 文德惠牧師任本堂助理牧師。 1986 : 聘請本堂實習神學生柯尊輝為本堂教師。 1987 : 王靜濤牧師榮休。 1989 : 柯尊輝教師被按立為牧師。 1993 : 王靜濤牧師主懷安息。 2001 : 柯尊輝牧師辭職，白德生牧師為暫代牧師牧養本堂。 2004 : 聘請鄧振成先生為本堂教師。 2006 : 鄧振成教師辭職。 2007 : 林德皓牧師擔任本堂聖禮牧師。 2008 : 馬漢欽牧師擔任本堂聖禮牧師。同年吳玉芬教師到任。 2011 : 吳玉芬教師按立為牧師，聘請李家強先生為本堂教師。 2012 : 本堂 60 週年堂慶。

In a long run, the Fund also aims to improve the business environment in Hong Kong. Charitable work Subsidies for continuing education and employee retraining courses 1. To subsidize outstanding female post-secondary students for internships or exchange programmes in large-scale enterprises both in Hong Kong or abroad, so as to contribute towards a better local business environment in future; 2. The Fund leverages the knowledge and connections of a professional team, to promote knowledge transfer between women at large and successful women entrepreneurs, so as to assist women entrepreneurs to explore the Greater China market, and take their career to new heights.

現在的深井給人最深刻的印象，就是遠近馳名的燒鵝，居住在香港的人，大多熟識這個地方的特產──燒鵝，深井靈光堂就座落在這個地區。四、五十年代，深井只是新界一個小村落，與荃灣相近。遠在半個世紀前，深井的人口稀少。及後來外來居民漸次遷入這小村，依山及在農田搭建房屋居住，居民大部份是客家人及潮州人。同時先後有九龍紡織廠、生力啤酒廠、嘉頓餅乾廠、美國聯合碳化有限公司等建立，居民多在這些工廠就業，以維持生計。由於交通不太方便，居民的生活和社交都是在村內，因此居民有很好的鄰舍關係。 　　仰面而上，踏過數十級梯級，一座依山而建的禮堂，就是我們的教會──深井靈光堂。深井街坊大都認識在這裏已數十年的教會和小學，並習慣地叫它「靈光」。 「靈光堂」 （TheEmmanuelChurch），按英文 Emmanuel 的意思就是以馬內利──神與我們同在；聽教會長執的分享，教會的名字是「聖靈之光」的意思，因為神與我們同在，就有聖靈的光輝。 　　靈光堂與香港一些其他宗派及獨立教會相似，是由美國的宣教士來香港建立的。靈光堂的根源可追溯至二次大戰香港淪陷前 （1941-1945）的「靈光書室」（Emmanuel Book Room），這書室是由三十年代來華的宣教士Dr. & Mrs. Lechmere Clift 所建立，戰後仍然運作。直至1948年 Dr. Clift 被主接回天家，Mrs. Clift 於1950年將靈光書室交給「洛杉磯聖經學院」（Bible Instituteof LosAngeles）及本會創辦人饒培德牧師夫婦（Rev. Dr. & Mrs. Charles A. Roberts）繼續服事香港的基督徒。 　　靈光堂創辦人於早期蒙上帝的呼召，從美國前來遠東地區宣教。曾於「中國長沙饒培德牧師湖南聖學院」擔任院長，造就上帝的工人，後約於五零年來港，與「洛杉磯聖經學院」開始早期靈光堂的事工，當時只有英文聚會，參加者多是外籍信徒。
