Our mission is to provide equal and high-quality educational opportunities to disadvantaged children in Hong Kong through strong partnerships, building the foundation of a life-long learning and contributing to achieving a truly inclusive community. We provide these opportunities for ethnic minorities, refugees and asylum seekers by partnering with different NGOs to identify talented individuals for education scholarships. Our vision is to see an inclusive community in Hong Kong where all children have access to education. SEA Charitable Foundation identifies students referred to by community partners and NGOs based on academics, sporting, music achievements, etc. We work closely with international schools in Hong Kong to provide scholarships and bursaries for asylum seekers, refugees, and those who ordinarily could not afford it. We also provide support to families looking to resettle in Australia, offering primary/high school and tertiary school placement for their children.

This Fund, founded by the late Mr. LI Po-chun, was established under the provisions of the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Ordinance (Cap. 1110). The Secretary for Home Affairs is the Chairman of the statutory committee which administers the Fund. Fund Objectives Approximately one half of the income of the Fund is used for scholarships, including overseas postgraduate scholarships, awards to students attending local tertiary institutions, the United World Colleges and Secondary 4 or above at one of four Anglo-Chinese secondary schools (namely, King's College, Queen's College, Queen Elizabeth School and Belilios Public School). The balance of the income is paid to the Director for Social Welfare for the relief of distress cases in which no adequate assistance is available from other sources. Scholarship Applications Applications for overseas postgraduate scholarships are invited through the Press in December every year. Application forms are available from the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Secretariat, Room 34/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong (tel no. 3718 6801).
