本堂早於1911年由倫敦傳道會〔今稱世界傳道會〕威禮士牧師所創立。當時大埔墟只是一個小漁港，交通極其不便。開基時只租用富善街某一單位為堂址，乃墟內第一間基督教教會。其後，教友人數日增，於1920年購得瑞安街物業為堂址，樓下用作聚會及興辦昆明女校，樓上用作傳道人宿舍。 其時，教會積極開展福音工作，聚會人數以漁民為多，地方不敷應用，遂興建新堂。全體教友都盡力奉獻，更有奉獻土地作堂址，興 辦學校，在多方協助下，新堂終於1950年落成。自五零年代初至七零年代末，新堂落成後三十多年來環境變遷，鄉村教友多往英國謀生，漁民亦因上岸工作而分 散各地就業，人力和財力都甚難集中，造成牧養上的重重困難。 配合中華基督教會香港區會傳道服務之使命，於1986年擴展本堂開辦之正而小學，改名為基正小學，座落於同區之富善邨。自始舊校舍改為開辦大埔堂幼稚園， 又於1987年區會在廣福邨開辦馮梁結紀念中學，本堂遂開展中學生福音事工，成立學生團契，也同時為社區提供小學生託管服務。教堂於90年完成全面重修 後，於92年在本會馮梁結紀念中學內植堂，名為廣福堂，2002年成為自養獨立堂會。2006年，配合基正小學之福音事工的發展，於校內設立富善佈道所。 本堂之成立，向以關心鄰舍街坊的福音需要，藉著提供適切的服務，讓人們認識救恩；又裝備信徒成為基督的門徒，投入事奉的行列，同心禱告，彼此服事，務求讓上帝家中的每一位兄姊得享主的恩福，帶領坊眾認識基督。

The Friends of Cambridge University in Hong Kong Limited is a charitable organization registered in Hong Kong whose principal activities are to provide for the advancement and promotion of learning and education at the University of Cambridge. The primary activity of The Friends is to manage the Prince Philip Scholarship, established in 1981. The Prince Philip Scholarship provides financial support to talented Hong Kong students to study at the University of Cambridge, many of whom would otherwise not have the opportunity or financial means to do so.

(1) To promote kindness, and to prevent or suppress cruelty to animals (2) To help and protect abandoned companion animals regardless of their age and breed and provide a life-long shelter for those which cannot be re-homed. (3) To help needy pet owners to alleviate their difficulties. (4) To facilitate Hong Kong in becoming a “No Kill City” through public education and the execution of the “Free De-sex Operations for stray/un-owned and Semi-Stray cats and dogs. (5) To provide education and outreach in the community to promote the awareness on welfare of animals and the sanctity of their life as well as to promote the concept of responsible pet owner/ responsible citizen .
