Founded in 1950, the Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Limited has been upholding the four doctrines, “Give Mutual Help, Share Joys and Sorrow, Show Support at Difficult Time, Make Changes in Customs and Traditions” to serve residents in the Southern District. In 1976, our Association established the Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service (formerly named “Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service Centre”). To achieve our mission, “Promote Mutual Concern among Neighbours; Nurture Talents to Serve the Community; Enhance Well-being to Promote Health for All”, we are committed to providing multi-farious social welfare services to community with our belief of “Care, Helpfulness, Accessibility, Reliability, Mutuality”. Today, the AKA has 28 service units and an array of special projects, with service scope covering the elderly, children and youth, family and community, social enterprise, education and health, etc., so as to provide diversified services for residents.
For over 25 years FOCUS has been a trusted resource for Hong Kong parents, educators and medical professionals seeking to learn how to better support the academic and social lives of children with mainstream learning differences. FOCUS aims to improve educational and life outcomes of children with AD/HD and SpLD by expanding understanding and raising awareness of what it means to have a mind that learns differently
Our mission is is to improve the education of mainstream students who are challenged by Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) by providing accurate evidence-based information, practical strategies and support to parents and professionals in education and healthcare and by improving understanding of how learning differences impact youth both emotionally and academically.
